What is tempered or toughened glass?
During the production process, the material is first heated to a temperature of approximately 700°C and then cooled abruptly, ensuring a noticeable improvement in the glass's physical properties. This makes it resistant to thermal shocks of 130°C and 2.5 times stronger than ordinary glass. The glass is virtually unbreakable. If broken, it shatters into small pieces with no sharp edges and no risk of injury.
Since its founding in 1945, Duralex has been a market leader in the production of tempered glass. Duralex products are made of hygienic, non-porous glass and are dishwasher, microwave, and freezer safe. Production, from raw materials to packaging, is carried out entirely in France.
