To test the fit of a mask with an exhalation valve, place both hands over the mask and inhale sharply. Negative pressure should be detected inside the mask. c. If you feel airflow in the nose area, readjust/tighten the nose clip. d. If you feel airflow around the edges of the mask, reposition the mask/headband for a better fit. e. Change the mask immediately if breathing becomes difficult or the mask becomes damaged or distorted. f. Change the mask if a proper face seal cannot be achieved. g.
